Even in the antebellum era, when slaves often weren't permitted to wed, most black children lived with a biological mother and father. During Reconstruction and up until the 1940s, 75% to 85% of black children lived in two-parent families. Today, more than 70% of black children are born to single women. "The welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery couldn't do, what Jim Crow couldn't do, what the harshest racism couldn't do," Mr. Williams says. "And that is to destroy the black family."

When I retire, I also will become a slave to the U.S. Government because I too will fall under their control thru the 'social security' program. Little did I know that it was all about control, not security. Now you want government controlled health care. Now you want the government to ban guns. Free people own guns, slaves do not. Crime in America is not because we have guns. It's because the government has completely destroyed the justice system to fill society with criminals. Then they promote gun control as a answer to the problem. Slaves never receive security, justice or freedom from Government.

I agree completely with you. And you (collectively as the nation of The United States of America) have more riding on your decisions than you know. You think yourselves as individuals are slaves of the U.S. Government, well think of us Canadians, we have the government control our guns, health care and the Canadian Government has had this control for a LONG time. All that it has done for us is increase government spending and create headaches. Also the only way the Canadians hav been able to continue is to hav a friendly super-power beside us. So in a matter of speaking Canada as a government fate rests on the decisions of the U.S.. If you become like Canada, Who will be your friendly super-power?
Canada would be a horrible mess without you, Americans, thank you and DO NOT ENVY us! Because we only seem prosperous, but that is only because of YOUR help, not because we did anything right!
So hang in there! :) (I almost wish I could vote in your elections, like I said b4, we hav enough riding on your decisions.)
About voting, the American people vote; but the government decides who you can vote for. Anyone who goes against their plans will never be elected.
